Quickly and easily connect SATA and/or IDE hard drives through USB 2.0. The SATA controller on your mobo has to support ATAPI drives for that to work - the adapter card shouldn't care what IDE drive you hook it up to but I suppose some might not support ATAPI drives for one reason or another.I did some digging for zif ssds and renice is an option. I will agree with mwroobel and Zarathustra that pata to SATA converters are not going to fit. Ie you can run a sata from an IDE only M/B and the other way round. From Ebay you can get a little card that plugs into the back of an IDE/SATA drive and converts one to the other.
